How AllSalons Compares

Last updated: September 9, 2026

Our approach to comparison

We compare AllSalons against typical practices of established beauty directories — not by naming and grading individual competitors, whose offerings change without notice. Every claim below describes what AllSalons does today, verified against our own deployed behavior. Where we are behind typical incumbents, we say that too.

Paid placement transparency

  • AllSalons: sponsored placements are always labeled at purchase and in search results, and no paid product changes reviews, badges, moderation or organic ranking. Our ranking methodology is published on How It Works.
  • Typical directories commonly intermix paid and organic listings with less prominent labeling, and paid products often influence visibility beyond a labeled slot.

Review credibility

  • AllSalons: every review carries a verification level (verified service, evidence-supported, unverified experience), moderation follows published guidelines, businesses can respond publicly, and suspicious reviews are quarantined rather than quietly removed.
  • Typical directories usually show star ratings without labeling how much of a rating is verified versus anonymous opinion.

Free for business owners

  • AllSalons: claiming and managing a profile is free, permanently, including responding to reviews, team management and analytics. Paid products are optional and clearly priced ($99 30-day placement; $29.99/month Premium Profile).
  • Typical directories often gate basic claim features, contact details or analytics behind subscriptions or sales calls.

Data provenance

  • AllSalons: automatically discovered listings are tagged 'Newly added' with an internal evidence trail, and a nightly data-quality job backfills missing details from authoritative sources. Owners correct their own records.
  • Typical directories rarely tell you where a listing's data came from or whether it has been verified.

Where established directories are ahead of us

  • Coverage and review volume: incumbent directories have years of accumulated listings and reviews in every market. We are growing nationwide daily, but many of our areas are still thin — if you find an area with few results, that's real, not hidden.
  • Features: some incumbents offer mature online booking engines, loyalty programs and verified-only tiers. Our booking is a request-and-confirm flow by design, and our feature set is still expanding.
  • Tenure: we are a young platform. Independent third-party security audits and large-scale operational history come with time; our current posture is published honestly on our Security page.

The bottom line

If you want the deepest review archives in a mature market, an incumbent may serve you better today. If you want transparent ranking, labeled data provenance, verification levels on reviews, and a free hand for business owners, that's what we built AllSalons to be.
