Review Guidelines

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Who can review

  • You must be 18 or older and signed in to an account.
  • One review per salon per account.
  • Reviews must describe your own first-hand experience.

What we welcome

Honest, specific accounts of your visit — service quality, atmosphere, results, and how the experience matched what was advertised. Both positive and critical reviews are valuable when they are truthful.

What we remove or hold for screening

  • Content that is not based on your own experience.
  • Spam, duplicate text and repeated submissions from the same account.
  • Contact information, links, email addresses or phone numbers — reviews are for experiences, not advertising or outreach.
  • Personal information about other people, including staff or clients.
  • Threats, harassment, hate speech or content encouraging illegal activity.
  • Reviews offered in exchange for payment, discounts or any incentive.

Automatic screening

Submissions that trip higher-risk signals — such as duplicated text or embedded contact details — are quarantined automatically: they are hidden from the salon page and excluded from rating averages until a moderator approves them. Everyday honest reviews are not affected.

Verification labels

  • Verified service — the service was confirmed through booking evidence.
  • Evidence supported — supporting evidence was reviewed by our team.
  • Unverified experience — the reviewer's own account of their visit; the default label.

Moderation and disputes

Moderation decisions are never influenced by whether a business pays for placement. Businesses can dispute a review through our team, and we correct or remove reviews when the guidelines require it. If you believe a review about your salon violates these guidelines, contact us and we will take a look.
